R2X Rally App Guide

How to use R2X Rally — from installation to sending your race result.

Install & set up your rider profile

  • Download R2X Rally from Google Play and open it.
  • Allow location access and turn on GPS — the trip meter, CAP and waypoint validation all use GPS.
  • On first launch, fill in your profile: nickname, email, start number and Rider ID (if you are registered for an event). These are attached to your results automatically.

Prepare your setup

  • Mount the phone/tablet on the Rally Tower and pair the Bluetooth Controller in Android's Bluetooth settings.
  • Menu → Calibrate Button Hardware: press a controller button for each function (scroll, trip, reset, etc.).
  • Menu → Calibrate Scroll Sensitivity sets the roadbook scroll step; Menu → Display Size (Font) sets the display size.

Load a roadbook or route

  • Official events: Menu → Login / ID Rider, then Sync Package Event. The event package (roadbook + route + rules) downloads automatically.
  • Tracks from r2xrally.com/tracks: open the .r2x package from your email/order page and choose “Open with R2X Rally”.
  • Your own files: File button → File & Route Manager → Import R2X Package, Import OpenRally, Import Route GPX, or Upload Roadbook (PDF).
  • Save routes with Menu → Save Track and reopen them from Menu → Track Collection.

Browse tracks

Navigating in Roadbook mode

  • The app opens in Roadbook mode. Scroll the roadbook with the controller to follow the box you are riding.
  • The trip meter and CAP (GPS heading) are on screen. Correct the trip value when needed to match the roadbook.
  • Reset Trip: hold the reset button for 1 second. Turn on Trip 2 via Menu → Activate Trip 2 (size S/M/L).

GPS Rally (map) mode

  • Menu → GPS Rally (Map), or open a GPX file with R2X Rally. GPS Rally event packages open on the map automatically.
  • Follow the blue track line on the OpenStreetMap map. Choose heading-up (map turns with you) or north-up.
  • Tap ◎ CENTER to bring your position back to the middle of the map.

During the race

  • Press START once a route is loaded. Waypoints/CPs are validated automatically; the status appears as a small notice under the Target CP bar.
  • Watch for speed zones (DZ), neutralisations and the maximum speed limit (GMS) set by the organiser — penalties follow the event rules.
  • If a waypoint fails to validate, the organiser may direct you to use Menu → Waypoint Bypass (Force Open / Map).
  • At the Finish, your result is sent to the organiser automatically. Review it in Menu → My Results.

Safety

  • Menu → SOS EMERGENCY sends your coordinates via WhatsApp or calls the rescue team.

R2X Pro

  • File & Route Manager and button calibration need Pro — or can be unlocked temporarily by watching an ad.
  • Options: 24H Pro Mode (watch ads), buy through Google Play in the app, or Menu → Activate Pro with Code using a code from r2xrally.com/pro.
